Founded in 2024 by Autumn Hallock, “We Are Marseille” was born out of a simple realization: there was nothing in English for Marseille’s vibrant international community. While working as a Community Manager at the city’s Office of Tourism, Autumn noticed that almost no content was being created in English. On top of that, some of Marseille’s most popular media platforms like Tarpin Bien, Made in Marseille, Les Marseillais, and Le Bonbon Marseille—all incredible resources—were exclusively in French.
Having lived in France for 5 years and Marseille for 3, Autumn saw a real gap (and opportunity) to create something specifically for English speakers or non-French speakers. Marseille, after all, is a Mediterranean melting pot, and its rich culture deserves to be accessible to everyone.
